How To Create A Delicate Autumnal Bud Vase Arrangement

How to create a small but perfectly formed posy for your bedside table.

Here I have created a foliage design using just a few garden grown snippings, such as Heuchera leaves, Verbena, Ornamental Grasses and Sanguisorba leaves.

The best vase for this style of design has a narrow opening. This allows you to create a styled arrangement with limited stems, as you can be more intentional with their placement.

Start by placing the Heuchea leaves close to the rim. These are the focal element. I like to layer different colours of Heuchera leaves on top of one another. Then create some directional movement with some wispy stems, before adding extra texture with grasses. In total this arrangement used about nine stems.
