A Richly Textured February Wedding

Venue: Clapton Country Club / Photographer: Cat Arwel / Dress: Halfpenny London

It was such a pleasure to create bridal florals for Natalie, whose colour scheme focused on a beautifully rich burnt orange. The winter season brings a more textural air, as well as an opportunity for decadence. Working with such a stylish and artful bride who completely trusts your creativity and judgement, is a joy. The end results were very beautiful indeed.

Taking inspiration from a bouquet I created the previous winter, I chose Banksia as the primary bloom. Acacia, Anigoz, Astrantia, Eucalyptus and Leucadendron (plus others), provided an elegant textural mix which complemented the statuesque Banskia so perfectly. I felt it important to weave in a softer element, selecting some deeply ruffled Ranunculus and stylish Zantedeschia, which also enhanced the feeling of bountiful luxury.

The bridal bouquet and four bridesmaids bouquets were unique but harmonious, and complemented each other wonderfully. All were finished with naturally dyed hand-torn silk velvet ribbons, and photographed fantastically well but the excellent Cat Arwel.
