How To Create Floral Champagne Flute Arrangements
Elevate your celebrations with beautiful garden gathered floral arrangements in champagne flutes.
created these in late May, but my approach would be same irrespective of the time of year.
All you need is a small piece of chicken wire shaped into a cone, which fits neatly into the base of the flute. Be sure not to crunch the chicken wire up too tightly, otherwise you may struggle to place the stems.
Cut a varied selection of small/medium rounded blooms such Ranunculus and Anemone (later in the year you could use Roses, Cornflower, Asters or smaller Dahlias), secondary flowers like Sweet William, Sweet Rocket, Sweet Peas and delicate Alliums, wispy elements like Orlaya and Nigella (or Gaura in the summer), some lighter foliages like Mint and Fennel, and grasses and seedpods for accents.
Start by placing a focal bloom slightly off centre, which rests on the rim/close to the rim of the glass. Then add the other two focals at different heights. Continue to build the shape with the secondary florals, wispy elements and light foliages. Finish by adding interest with seedpods.
Stem Count Guide (per flute): x3 small/medium focal blooms - x5 secondary florals - x3 wispy elements - x5 light foliages - x5 interest accents.
